What's all this about? What do we mean "Texas is opening a "Cannes" of Whoop Ass on the film industry"?
Let's face it, Texas has always done things a little different than the rest of the country... and when it comes to filmmaking, Texas has turned Hollywood on its head. Through innovative filmmaking, the Texas Indies have revolutionized the entire process. With filmmakers like Robert Rodriguez and Richard Linklater utilizing digital technology to its fullest extent, Texas has led the way into the digital revolution. Texas and its filmmakers are truly opening a can of whoop ass on the industry.
But this revolution is not only for the Texas Filmmaker... indeed, it's an indie revolution. Filmmaking has changed and we invite the whole world to celebrate it with us.
Why South Padre Island? While Texas has many great cities, we wanted to take advantage of South Padre's gorgeous setting... Located on the Texas Gulf Coast, the island is a cross between a good ol' fashioned Texas town and a Caribbean island... With unbelievable beaches and a fantastic venue (the large movie theater at the SPI Convention Centre)...
